Bandsaw Lab Guide

Upon entering the woodshop, acquire protective wear: Safety goggles and ear muffs Acquire wood glue from the 'Adhesives' shelf Grab a tape measure from the main tool shelf under the 'W' section  Pick up a pencil for dimensioning from the 'Pencils/Sharpies' box Locate the bandsaw and your supplied wood for the activity
     Dimension out a 6“ x 6” square and mark spots of wood you will discard by using 'X's'     Begin cutting out your 6“ x 6” square and be careful with your hand placement by using the edge on your wood farthest from the blade    Upon reaching the first edge of your cut, stop the blade from cutting and back out of your wood. Do this for each side you cut. Further cutting of the 6“ x 6” pieces. The cutting is inward from the side The two complete 6“ x 6” pieces you should have cut Measure out diagonal from two corners to the top of one of the squares. The measurement does not need to be accurate, but needs around 4“ - 5” of wood at the top at least.
The complete curve-cut piece that will attach to the base of the other 6“ x 6” square. Apply a THIN layer of wood glue to the bottom of the curve-cut wood piece. Attach the curve-cut wood to one of the ends of the 6“ x 6” wood piece. Upon doing this, refer to the area beside the roll-up door where several clamps can be found and attach two on both of the backings of the wood corners to lock in place. Let sit for one hour Upon returning, unclamp both supports. Upon completing the bookend, return all tools to their respective places.
