Cutting Wood With Table Saw Cutting wood with a table saw makes life a lot easier, but it can also be dangerous of you do not know how to do it. In this example you will learn make a wooden small box using a table saw.

Tools Needed:
- Sled
- corner clamps
- wood glue
Safety:
- Never stand between the level? and the blade as wood can shoot out
- Have the saw blade be at the above the wood by about one centimeter
- Push the sled all the way through so you can see the blade
- Push the wood all the way through so you can see the blade
- Keep your body up right (keeping body away from saw blade)
- make sure the wheels are locked so the table can't move
- make sure that the nut is all the way tight on the blade depth control wheel
Get a piece of wood, speed square, tape measure, pencil.
Measure/ Mark 4 inches on your piece of wood
open the rip fence by pulling the red lever up and slide it to four inches away from the saw.
Under the table there is a wheel with a nut in the middle of it. Unscrew the nut and turn the wheel.
Turn the wheel to be about one centimeter above the wood. Make sure to tighten the bolt again before continuing on.
Once you are ready to cut flip the switch on and wait until it is solid green and not red green flashing.
Be sure that your wood is flat against the rip fence and you wood is away from the blade pull the big red stop switch towards you and the blade with turn on. Slowly move your piece through the saw all the way until the wood is fully cut.
Once you have your long piece of wood, mark 2 4.5“x4” and 2 10“x4”.
Then get the sled and slide it onto the table saw. It will sit in the grooves so it should only move forwards and backwards not side to side. Next pull the sled all the way towards you , put the wood on top and readjust the blade height (revisit previous steps in necessary).
Line up the marks the perpendicular to the table slice in the sled.
Turn on the saw and hold the sled with your figures starting on the side with the start button and hold the sled down firmly with your figures out of the way, but holding down the wood. Running wood through until you can see the blade all the way through the sled.
Repeat so you have all four pieces you measured and marked. Next you are going to cut a thin piece of plywood (1/8“) into a 4 3/4” x 10“ rectangle (this will be your base).
Take the sled off the table and move the rip fence to be about 1/2” of the blade and lower it so that the blade is half the thickness of the plywood.
Move the blade over 1/8 of an inch until the thin plywood can easily slide in without to much room.
Run the wood all the way through until you get the groves. Should take two and a half times.
Once the wood is all cut put it in corner clamps and use wood glue to glue it together.
once the glue is dried slide the thin plywood into the grooves and seal up the box using more glue. Then you have your box!!
